We are creating a unified UKRI website that brings together the existing research council, Innovate UK and Research England websites.

Campus Development Updates

Please be aware that overall development work at RAL is limited due to the coronavirus pandemic. Where work is being undertaken, it is being managed according to government guidelines on Covid 19, with robust health and safety measures in place.

In line with the recent government directive on Covid 19 and the construction sector, we are undertaking some work over the weekends, to minimise the potential negative impact of Covid 19 on delivery of construction projects.

Campus Development Programme

You will be aware that we are going through a period of significant change at the STFC RAL Campus. We are developing our campus in order to expand our scientific capabilities and attain our strategic vision to maximise the impact of our knowledge, skills and facilities for the benefit of the United Kingdom.

The expansion of our scientific facilities, through our development work, will secure our position as an outstanding scientific organisation, capable of producing world leading research, innovation and skills.

Through the provision of cutting edge science facilities, we can attract the best academic partnerships, support interdisciplinary research, foster industrial collaboration and economic growth, as we encourage business development in our exceptionally diverse scientific community.

STFC is working with a number of business partners and academic sponsors in order to successfully achieve our development objectives.

Mace is working with STFC on a number of our building developments, including the Rosalind Franklin Institute, National Satellite Test Facility (NSTF) and Extreme Photonics Application Centre (EPAC).

Mace is keen to engage considerately with staff, tenants and our local neighbours, and will welcome any feedback. Further contact details are available at the end of this newsletter.

In addition, Mace is working within our local community, to provide educational benefits and support a selection of community projects. This is particularly focused on education and young people, as part of their commitment to support the community that they work in.

* Please note that due to the dynamic nature of this construction, planned work may deviate moderately from scheduled dates, but these plans (lookaheads) represent our current forecast of events. Please note that, in the event of adverse weather, planned operations may be subject to significant disruption or delay.
