Jayne Lawrence is Professor and Head of the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry at the University of Manchester. Until early 2017 she was the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Chief Scientist and Professor in the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, King's College London. Jayne’s research interests lie in the engineering of advanced, self-assembled, colloidal systems for improved drug and gene delivery, and in which she frequently employs the neutron sources at ISIS and ILL to achieve her goals.
Jayne has served on numerous UK and international advisory committees, many associated with the use of Large Scale Facilities. For example, she has served on beamline review panels at ISIS at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratories (FAP3, large scale structures and FAP 2, disordered structures) and the ILL (College 8, biology) and was a recent chair of FAP3.
Jayne also served on the access panel for the Central Laser Facility. She was external coordinator for ZOOM, a small angle neutron scattering instrument for the second target station at ISIS and is a member of the Institute of Physics Facilities Forum, the UK Neutron Scattering Group and the Diamond SAXS User Working Group.
