Research in Industry Funding

Key facts

Funding schemes and announcements of opportunity open to industry

The following schemes/announcements of opportunity have been opened to companies seeking funding through the research in industry funding mechanism:

STFC Research In Industry funding mechanism aims to engage industry in STFC's programme-related technology development.

Funding, in specified programme areas, is provided through agreements between STFC and supplier companies, following standard terms and conditions.

Companies may apply for funding using the Research in Industry funding mechanism as part of a collaboration with an approved research organisation if it has a manufacturing and/or research facility within the UK.

Applications through the Research in Industry funding mechanism are made by submitting to STFC a completed proposal form accompanied by a document, known as a Case for Support, setting out the proposed programme of research. Submissions should be made through the RCUK on-line Joint electronic Submission (JeS (link opens in a new window)) System.

In most cases, prospective applicants will be required to complete a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) which should be attached with the JeS proposal application.

Applicants should read the general guidance notes below before completing the application.
