STFC assists the path to successful product development by offering affordable access to world-class expertise, equipment and networks for businesses to turn new ideas into reality.

3D printing capabilities at Sci-Tech Daresbury enable rapid prototyping of complex designs on a project-by-project basis, facilitating cutting-edge engineering R&D without the need to buy or pay prohibitively high prices.

STFC experts work closely with companies to explore how 3D printing could aid product development and streamline manufacturing processes to reduce costs and time to market. Experts can also draw on knowledge from the wider STFC and Sci-Tech Daresbury communities, such as the High Performance Computing facility or the Virtual Engineering Centre, creating opportunities for digital integration through virtual and augmented reality.

From generating essential links between companies and collaborators, funding bodies and bureaus to designing the development cycle to advantageously fit into the business plan, STFC helps to break down the barriers to product development.
