A speaker at the conference
Computing Insight UK, the high performance computing event organised by STFC, has once again been hailed a success by visitors and exhibitors.
The event had two full days of presentations running alongside a trade exhibition with 36 businesses on show. Feedback has been positive, with visitors and exhibitors enjoying the quality of the speakers, the learning sessions and the opportunity to network.
Nearly 400 guests attended over the two days. The keynote speech at the end of day one was Dr Fred Streitz, Director of the High Performance Computing Innovation Centre at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in America. He discussed the coming together of machine learning, predictive computer simulation and experiments as part of the U.S. Cancer Moonshot – a government initiative to accelerate cancer research. Dr Streitz was very well received by the audience who were keen to learn from his significant achievements.
Presentations from the event are now available to download here.
2019’s event has been confirmed for 5-6 December, once again at Manchester Central.
